Ministry Of Public Works Launches The Second Community Outreach Campaign For Housing Maintenance In The State
The Ministry of Public Works at the Ministry’sHead Office in Dubai launched a second community outreach campaign for housing maintenance in order to raise awareness among citizens of the necessity to maintain sustainability of housing and ensure that the lives of the residents through periodic housing maintenance.
The ministry addressed all government agencies , society sectors and their private and civil organizations and education and media entities to launch initiatives and operational projects focused on the housing sector and maintenance of citizens’ homes , as a kind of enhancing and promoting the values of community cohesion between all the components of the society in the state.
Public Works ensures its willing to provide technical support, advice and supervision of any projects relating to the establishment and maintenance of houses of citizens in various parts of the state and under the supervision of qualified eligible citizens, noting that maintaining the residential assets requires a particular criteria that must be taken into account both in homes ,institutions or public utilities .
The launch of the campaign was attended by , Dr. Abdullah Belhef Al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Engineer Mohammed Almail, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Housing andUrban Planning, and engineer Hissah Al Malek, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Works, Engineer Abdullah Al-Khadim, Executive Director for Housing Program for Sheikh Zayed Housing, and a number of officials in the housing programs and housing stakeholders and directors of departments and zoneswithin the ministry and a number of citizens.
Engineer Azza Suleiman, Director of Governmental Communications in the Ministry, pointed that the ministry is seeking cooperation with various government agencies to reflect the vision of His Highness the President of the UAE in a general trend led by the government in partnership with the public and private sectors to promote community cohesion in the country, and encourage every initiative that seeks to promote this orientation to ensure a high quality of life and to achieve the objectives of sustainable nation and to realize the aspirations of the citizens.
Suleiman ,Said «The instructions of the leadership to study and implement projects that contribute to raising the standard of living and the economic and social situations of citizens at a permanent follow-up for the housing sector and its initiatives to provide housing for citizens in all parts of the country, is a clear message and guidance towards effective partnership and integration with various partners tocontribute towards realizing excellence of the UAE.
She added that the ministry being aware of the importance of education and counseling and by the importance of maintenance has launched during the past year the first awareness campaign and stepped up its efforts to educate citizens on true preventive methods as well as saving the efforts and expenditures and burden on the citizen himself and the nation and its concerned destinies and agencies .
She pointed out that the ministry is periodically and preventively working on the maintenance prevention of homes and institutions and to provide a lot of effort and expenditure by following simple guidelines which only cost very little effort and often avoid the massive loss of life and property.
She also stated that the second campaign is about to raise awareness on housing maintenance which will be followed by initiatives from various housing programs in the state to endeavor to achieve the vision of the UAE and the aspirations of the citizens and of all the strategic partners in contributing to the achievement of balance in all Emirates and to put human being at the forefront of the government's priorities.
Dr. Salah al-Din Issa , The Sustainability Expert at the ministry , demonstrated a presentation on preventive guidance and advice to maintain housing speaking about the concept ofmaintenance and the ministry's vision for the maintenance and about strategic objectives for housing maintenance.
Also a working group of the Ministry composed of engineer Fawzia Al-Naqbi from the Department of the Northern Region in the ministry and some trainee engineers from the Southern Region Department in the ministry who were Engineer Fatima Salem and Eng. Khawla Mossa and Eng. Taghreed Abdul Hafeez, have presented a working paper on maintenance of houses and instructions with guidance and tips that should be ollowed to maintain houses in good condition .
The work paper contained the optimal way to maintain the housing and directing citizens on how to maintain the sustainability of housing over time by conducting regular preventive maintenance.
